Came across Globe bikes recently and fell immediately in lust. Of the line the most interesting to me were the Live and the Haul series. I think Specialized hit the nail on the head with these bikes design-wise, and the color palette was taken from the original VW color codes (and I loooooves me some old VWs). Have yet to ride one of these as they aren’t available in stores yet, or at least not locally available in stores, so just have a look and a drool.
The Live 1. Single speed, fenders, beautiful front rack, coaster brake, $580. Wish the baskets were a little deeper to better hold my 22 oz. Pelicans.
Globe Live 2. For my uses looks like the sweet spot in the line with it’s 8 speeds, twist shifting and no coaster brake. Of course like the higher end Fisher Simple City 8 Globe felt that buyers of a $1k bike don’t expect that bike to come with disc brakes…
