Thought this sticker was hilarious given the Volagi/Specialized hooplah. Not my bike, but can appreciate the sentiment. I also think it’s funny that people who will talk your ear off about buying local, small, artisan, handcrafted,‘hate Starbucks because they are big’blah blah blah will also openly rep the big S like it ain’t no thang. FWIW I’d ride an Enduro or an FSR of some sort if it was free. In the end all this boycott talk will have zero change on their bottom line given the short term memory of consumers these days (anybody remember the old ‘boycott Burton cuz you can’t patent fun’movement?),but it’s nice to see a small minority keep the dream alive. Guy is lucky he didn’t use red stickers for that, would have likely been sent a C&D by big S.
Just saw this today courtesy of the NSMB feature, can you say HAWT?! Besides being in a color I’m still a sucker for, energy drink/slimer from Ghostbusters green (and yes,I know a lot of haters will say that color is played out) it’s a 9er that doesn’t look like it’d be boat like. Oh yeah, and MADE IN THE USA right here in the PNW –that don’t happen everyday these days. Going to have to find a demo locally and check it out. Note to the Transition guys, release it in that TR250 purple. While it’s not Husky purple it’s close enough, and since Jake Locker is from your hometown it’s kind of like your God-given duty to represent. ![]() I would make sweet, sweet lust to this bike, and even cuddle after. Click pic to go to their site and read up ![]() This color needs to happen on the B29 ![]() 29er zealots will stand up and applaud this photo,26er zealots will say it's photchopped 3:00 into this video there’s a sneak peek of the Transition 69er
Transition Bikes can be e-stalked in all the usual ways - twitter, book o’faces,or old school homegrown html Received a new Swobo Novak as part of a gear trade. I don’t actually need it though, massive city bike quiver overlap. Sick urban ride,3 speed internal geared hub, seat post with built in light, basic no frills looking bike that won’t catch the eye of your local bike thief. Still in the box (tho prebuilt, really just connect it up and go,not like you’re lacing wheels!),60cm (fits 5’9 to 6’3 or so),$500 and it’s yours!
UPDATE:SOLD! Time to buy new gear…. Playing around today….it’s like one of those projects people start when they are high or something…dunno if I’ll go all the way with this as I’d need either a new RD or new front brifter to make ‘er work (damn 1:1 vs. 1:2 cable pull)….on the bright side it’d be a disc braked ‘cross’bike
Saw this setup when sitting in traffic in Seattle the other day (BTW,as an aside,WTF happened to Seattle?? Filled with assholes and more assholes these days. Has the California xenophobia finally proven to be true??). Not sure if you can tell but they’ve got aero bars on a headshok and big ass gel seat equipped city bike. Just….odd. Of course by pointing this out I’m now the asshole,c’est la vie.
I’ve got love for all things bike –mountain, road, city, whatever (well,no love for recumbants, the rollerbladers of the bike world). It’s no secret I’m a sucker for a good handmade bike. Maybe it’s the fact that you always want what you can’t have, but more likely it’s the attention to detail, and the fact that they are made in the USA by people who have dedicated years to the craft and actually give a shit about their output. Given infinite time and income I’d LOVE to take a frame building class and try my hand at the craft. Anyways,as I’m fortunate to live in the US hotbed for all things bike I get to see bikes most never see on a daily basis on my commute. Came across these guys recently,so sick! I think I’m going to do a blog series on the various hand crafted local bike manufacturers, try to get some interviews, snap some photos of their factories, wipe drool off face, rinse, repeat. Anyways, onto a few fapworthy bikes. Saltzman (yes,THAT Saltzman). Note that I go full on retard for bikes in that Yeti-esque blue color.

A smattering of some other Signal Cycles sexiness. Click on any of the pics to get more info. ![]() Wine rack with wine by Portland local (and nearby neighbor) John Grochau Ziba+Signal April Diary Video for OM from Core77 on Vimeo. Venture on over to their site to check out more bike hawtness, learn a bit about the guys behind the welder, and check out pricing. Way out of my price range but I may just pick up one of the tees to represent….
Got some new shoes, some Odyssey somethinorrather. Not quite period correct size but whatever, they’re white. Not that almost blue this ain’t OEM celebrity tooth overbleaching white, but they are really really white nonetheless.
aaaaand some new shoes. Vans Kool Stop pads, just like you remember ‘em.
Gotta give props to the crew at Goods BMX. If you’re not local to Portland and your local shop doesn’t have the goods you can shop ‘em online. Saw a flock of wild Yeti SB-66 up at Grand Targhee for the Wydaho Rendezvous. Broke in (and by broke in I mean went over the bars HARD) the black one on the far right on a short ~8 mile ride or so (not sure exact distance since my GPS app stopped…). One word, smooooth. I’d buy one in a heartbeat if I could get a deal on one (especially so if they release the SB-95…). They are going to sell a ton of these babies. I meant to take a ton of photos to share, but I got caught up in the fun and didn’t want to head back to the car and fire up the camera. Picked up a pair of these ![]() Marketing bikers ask "Are those freeride pedals? Urban freeride pedals? All mountain pedals? Downhill?" To finish this
Wanted pink but couldn’t find it so went with fake anodized blue. Just found out they have glow in the dark pink and purple so pedal change may already be forthcoming… | |
